Because it ought to be my birthday all month long

Okay.

It's not a secret by now that I am completely and totally obsessed with Supernatural, and that the only way I can work through this obsession is by writing fic.

I'm thinking casefic at this point (don't worry, I'm not giving up on the other WIPs I have), but because it's my birthday + 1 day I am going to make you work for it.

Give me a prompt for the case you've always wanted to see the boys take on and they never did. It can be anything from a one-word prompt ("UNICORN!") all the way to a full prompt complete with your favourite secondary characters or whatever.

After that I pick the prompt(s) I like best, and I'll write it (them). Also, I am happy to beat either boy into a puddle —within the confines of a casefic— for the record, if that's part of the prompt. It's not a secret that I'm a h/c whore.

Sound good?

I thought so, at any rate. ;)

Aaaaand GO!

This is an actual haunt here in Salt Lake City- The Shiloh Inn is haunted. Back in the 1970's, a man who called himself Emmanuel David declared himself to be the Holy Trinity, and formed his own religion. He and his family survived on church donations, living in penthouse suites all over the city, and eating at the finest restaurants. When the feds investigated him for tax evasion and fraud, he went up the canyon and killed himself. The police informed his wife, and the next morning, she very calmly took the children (I think there were 8) to the top floor balcony of the Shiloh Inn where they were staying, and threw them over. Some of the older children willingly jumped. One girl survived, and still lives with the followers of the religion. Now, the hotel is haunted by the ghosts of the children who died. They play in the pool area. You can hear them, but not see them. They took out the video game machine because it would play itself. Most telling, they play with the elevator. Most elevators are programmed to stay on the lobby level when not in use, but the elevator at the Shiloh Inn is ALWAYS on the top floor. It's been "repaired" several times, but I've been downtown, and the outside elevator is always resting on the top floor when not in use.

Oooh... cool.

I'll have to look that up. Dunno if Sam and Dean would be cool with salting and burning ghosts who aren't posing a threat, but I can maybe just borrow this idea and do something with it...

Looking online, it's cracking me up all the different versions there are. My version comes from the Salt Lake City ghost tour, which is run by some Storyteller friends of mine who do their research pretty well.

This is just an idea for you to play with. I just think it's an awesome story. If it gives you good ideas for a story, then use it however you need to use it.
