I swear to God, it is easier to get Top Secret Security clearance for the RCMP than to fucking get an entry approved for posting in your community. I should know, because I have done both and only succeeded at the former!

Christ on a cracker. I did everything you wanted and yet ONE detail gets me rejected? How many more flaming hoops do I need to jump through?

Heh, I have a tendency to be defensive of

supernaturalfic because I was a mod there for a while, but at the same time I know it can be frustrating. Part of it is the way LJ works--that the mod can't just make small changes to the subject line and the post can't just be sent back for revisions, that it has to be deleted and started over. I'm sorry it was migraine-inducing. :(

I specifically tailored my damned entry for them (which I have to do for NO OTHER COMM, where my usual template is enough) and it was STILL rejected.

What a load of crap. I only join comms who's submission stuff I think is fair/doable. The rest can screw off. Why make it hard for people to share something they've already worked so hard on? Its stupid.

Actually, this is a lot closer to how I am in real life. Fandom is my happy place, and as a result the entries in this LJ tend to be a lot happier/fluffier than my usual massive doses of sarcasm. :D

I love how they have a paragraph about not having a huge summary because it could scare away readers...when their ENTIRE PAGE COULD SCARE AWAY ANYONE WHO WANTED TO POST THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG! I thought it was only me! How come I can do the 40 steps needed to give a patient enteral medications, or hang an IV without incident or hey - give drugs that could KILL you if in the wrong dose but I have only been able to succeed once- with posting to supernaturalfic.

I'm starting to feel like - wtf you will either read my stuff where I have it posted or you won't because I'm physically incapable of posting there.

I hear you. It has got to be the most intimidating comm out there to post to. And I don't really get the need for all their fiery hoops to be honest, the other comms seems to manage perfectly fine with much simpler posting formats.

I'm not intimidated. Just frustrated and, by now, pretty pissed. Like you said, all the other comms seem to manage JUST FINE. *eyeroll*

When I was first in SPN, I confess I found it intimdiating. Coming in from smaller fandoms, I had a definite WTF?? moment when I looked at that entire page of posting instructions for the first time, and wondered if ther really was a secret handshake to being a Supernatural fan.

Like you, I just find it annoying now. And vaguely ridiculous.

I've posted there in the past and done okay, but I've always been nervous about it. To be honest, though, I stopped posting there a long time ago. In part because of the detailed rules. I just hate to mess up, you know?

I know it's a big comm and much posting happens there, but I've never really felt welcome there. Always felt like an outsider. Probably just my imagination.

More power to them. I just post somewhere else.

I've never felt one way or the other. It's not like I expect to be welcomed or petted or whatever by the comms where I post. I follow them for fic, and occasionally I post my fic there too. I just don't understand why it has to be a chore.

At least there are other comms where you can post.

OK, look, you know very well that its not like giving people Top Secret Clearance is going to cause earth-shaking, world-changing events to unfold. On the other hand, this is a comm for the VERY SERIOUS FANDOM (AKA SUPERNATURAL)and the FATE OF THE FREE WORLD is riding on the fic that is posted to this comm (or really to the VERY SERIOUS FANDOM in general, but I digress/) Oh, and baby African seals will die, too.

Two weeks into the whole doing-LJ-for-real thing and I've already decided I hate them. They get one submission and if it gets rejected for putting PG-13 in the subject line and T in the header in the entry, then so be it.
