Writing Epiphanies

Apparently being sleep-deprived and in the midst of renovation chaos is good for the imagination.

I think I figured out a couple of scenes that are "missing" from my BigBang. The ending was rushed, and I've been fretting about it ever since I turned in my rough draft. Now, though, I'm pretty sure I know where to fix it, and how to hit the emotional notes I was missing there.

I got my [livejournal.com profile] spn_summergen prompts, and I am stupidly excited about them. As it turns out, I am friends with the prompter, and now I am SO NERVOUS about it! Somehow I think it's easier writing for strangers. Gah! Still, I love the prompts, and while they're a little bit outside of my comfort zone I am going to do my very best to do them justice. If I have the time, I may even write more than one, because they're all just that good. I'm going to start with one, though, because I have lots of fic commitments this summer.

Also? [livejournal.com profile] pkwench has helped me hash out some plot points and other interesting things for the [livejournal.com profile] deancasbigbang I suicidally signed up for this summer. I am planning a wee!Dean fic, just because. Actually, I had the idea way back when, and it wasn't really going anywhere, but [livejournal.com profile] pkwench helped me to hammer the idea into something workable, and now I'm excited about that too.

I still need to figure out what I want to write for [livejournal.com profile] spn_solstice. Entries are due in a month. I'm thinking of something [livejournal.com profile] dante_s_hell said a while back in someone else's LJ entry (I think it was [livejournal.com profile] roque_clasique) about someone needing to write an End 'Verse fic with Cas shotgunning marijuana smoke with Dean (to Dean? for Dean? I don't know what the proper preposition is for that particular verb, though I should probably look it up), and I loved the image that conjured up. In fact, part of me is wondering if I can't write that fic while keeping it gen and just using it to show how very screwed up it all is.

Anyway, there is your dose of authorial thinky-thoughts for the day. I should go do some writing now.

I know some scenes are "missing" from my Big Bang, but they are not being helpful at all. :(

Considering how much trouble I'm having just editing and fixing and adding to my Big Bang, I will always be in awe of people who do so many challenges. You're awesome. And these stories sound great. Will the deancas wee!Dean story be gen or slash? (if you don't mind me asking)

I kind of wish that I'd signed up for summergen just to give myself another outlet and something else to work on when I want to bunch my Big Bang in the face.

The deancas story will definitely be gen.

I have written exactly one story with teh sexins in it, and it's very mild het. I have yet to be brave enough to venture into the world of slash, although some of my work could, I suppose, be considered pre-slash, if you want. It's up to the reader to get what they want out of it. :)

There are lots of other challenges out there. Maybe you should go find one!

I'm the same way about stories. I've written a ton (never published) of stories, but I really can't do sex scenes. Or romance. I'm just not a very romantic person.

I should find a challenge, but I'm afraid that I'll have no time, now that my internship is about to begin. Excuses, excuses, heh. I'll probably wait for more no-pressure comment-fic memes. I love those.

There is in fact a no-pressure meme going on RIGHT NOW at [livejournal.com profile] hoodie_time. Go forth and write schmoop! ;)
