Big Bang waffling

A whole bunch of Big Bangs sign-ups are coming up, and I am at a bit of a loss. I have several story ideas which could work for the [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_bigbang, but I'm floundering a bit for the rest.

The one which is causing me the most angst is the [livejournal.com profile] sncross_bigbang. I've written one crossover in the past, which was my Burn Notice crossover for [livejournal.com profile] spn_summergen, so I know I can do it, but I'm still being all waffly about it, because I don't know which show to cross SPN with.

Oh, what the hell. Let's have some polls!

As for THIS QUESTION: Which would you most like to see as my spn_j2_bigbang?

I vote for:
Sam is kidnapped by faeries as a child & isn't seen for 7 years (casefic)

But my first choice is actually a Fusion!Verse story.... FUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSSSSSIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIOOOOOOOOOOONNNNN!!!

Hee!

Fusion doesn't work for Big Bang™ because you'd have to read at least the first story before the BB, and that disqualifies it according to the BB rules.

**cries softly in corner**

In that case, why does Silent!Verse work? I haven't read any of it yet but I'm still working my way through your stuff. GAH!!!

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2011-01-03 02:59 pm (UTC)(link)
It would work in that it would be a stand-alone casefic which doesn't require prior knowledge of the 'verse. All you'd need to know is that Dean is deaf.

Fusion has a cast of supporting characters who tend to pop in and out a lot. I suppose I could always TRY for a Fusion fic which wouldn't require reading the rest, but I don't think the 'verse lends itself well to longer stories at this point. I kind of like my little one-shots. :)

I love the one shots! :))))))))

And now I remember the silent!verse... That's always good. But I dunno, I still like the one-shots for that one too. My vote stands.

Except maybe it would work because you could so brilliantly incorporate background information in such a seamless way, nobody would know there was anything they were missing...

Yeah, sucking up, I know. ;) Besides, then I'd have to wait for summer for more Fusion 'verse, and that would be sad.

[identity profile] ratherastory.livejournal.com 2011-01-03 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee!

Oh, you won't have to wait that long. I don't know exactly when I'll get to Fusion again, but it will be sooner rather than later.

I have an insane wordcount goal for the year, after all, so Fusion will help get me there.

Yay!!!!

(Btw, it's been a rough week, and re-reading your "Take Me Home" and fusion 'verse helped. A lot. Thank you.)

Oh, man, I'm sorry to hear that. I'm glad you were able to escape it at least a little bit.

That sucks, I was going to say the Fusion 'verse too, cos I'm so in love with it and there could never be enough of it, really.

Uhm yeah, very random comment, sorry.
