Podfic woes
Dec. 1st, 2010 10:49 amSo my beloved kitty Pan-Pan (one of four, and the heaviest of the lot at 19lbs) decided he wanted love RIGHTTHEHELLNOW as I was trying to edit my podbang recording last night. No idea how he did it, but I lost 45 minutes' worth of recording, and have been unsuccessful in getting it back. Luckily the mods were understanding about my cat-related mishap and gave me a few days to pull it all together again.
Gnarr.
I love my cats. I love my cats. I love my cats. I will repeat this until I believe it again.
Bad enough the number of times I've had to re-record over the sound of unearthly yowling from the next room. Argh.
Anyway, onward and upward.
I have a question for the podficcers on my flist. I've posted the same question to
podfic_tips, but I figured I'd cover all my bases. :)
This is still hypothetical, but I'm hoping to record some multi-chapter affairs in the coming months. My question is, how does this work logistically? If I were thinking of it as a CD, or an album, I'd like each chapter to have its own numbered track (e.g. Chapter 1 = Track 1, Chapter 2 = Track 2, etc.). Except I CANNOT for the life of me figure out how to do that and have it be all in one place.
Can I record each chapter as a separate file and then somehow combine them?
I'm using GarageBand on my Mac, and I'm hoping this is just a case of Clueless Newbieism and that it's actually child's play to do it.
Can anyone help me out?
