Writing on the Wall (1/2)
Jan. 24th, 2011 11:36 amTitle: Writing on the Wall
Summary: Written for the
l4d_bigbang. SPN Crossover with Left 4 Dead. Season 2 AU. Caught in the wake of a nation-wide epidemic, Sam and Dean find themselves stranded in a small town, far away from any form of aid. Together with a couple of other survivors, they must run the gauntlet of a town full of the infected, taking refuge in safe houses where they can, in order to make it to the evac zone. Even then, they learn, nowhere is truly safe...
Art: By the incomparable
glasslogic! Link here.
Characters: Sam, Dean, OFC, OMC, with quick guest appearance by Bobby
Rating: R
Wordcount: 14,991
Disclaimer: I own neither Sam nor Dean nor anything to do with the L4D video game franchise. That's probably a good thing, because otherwise there would be a lot more zombies in the SPN world, and the character survival rate would be a LOT lower...
Warnings: No spoilers for SPN past Season 2. Swearing. Violence and gore about on par with both the show and game.
Neurotic Author's Note #1: First off, I encourage you to RUN, not walk, to the gorgeous art by
glasslogic, who is a complete rockstar! Not only is she running the show, she's also writing AND making art! She made a banner and a divider and a whackload of icons, which are fabulous. You will note how gorgeous the banner is: she has a real feel for composition, and combined the elements of the story together beautifully. You'll see when you read the story.

Beta request #6,894,237
Jan. 20th, 2011 09:28 pmHi all!
So I am supposed to be posting my
l4d_bigbang on Monday, and am finishing up the massive clean-up of my draft now. The draft should be ready by tomorrow evening.
Is anyone out there willing to take a look at it for the usual SPaG and "Oh my God,
ratherastory, what the hell is that sentence?" kind of stuff?
It's going to clock in at a little under 15K by my count. It's currently just under 13K and I have a big scene left to write, hopefully tonight.
Because of the quick turnaround, I'm not asking for an in-depth beta, just one to make sure there's nothing that will make me have to leave fandom because it's so bad. ;)
For any of you who don't know, Left 4 Dead is a video game about survivors trying to make it through zombie-infested territory. So, essentially, that's what this story is about: Sam and Dean and a couple of other survivors going from Point A to Point B and trying not to get nommed by zombies. The usual levels of gore that you'll find in my horror writing are there, and are in fact really not as bad as some of my stories.
Anyone? Bueller?

I couldn't resist
Dec. 14th, 2010 05:30 pmSo I caved and signed up for
l4d_bigbang because it looks awesome and is only 5,000 words. That can't be that bad, right? (Yes, I know, I said that about
spn_reversebang too, alas)
Unsurprisingly, I'm going to do a SPN crossover. I have a plot bunny.
Zombies! \o/
