I am ALSO offering a fic at helpbrazil2011, because EVERYWHERE is flooding these days! Holy crap. Same deal as the above.

So someone on ff.net pinged me about this, and I am halfway tempted. Some of you may know that I'm currently training (or trying to train) to become an RCMP officer. My main problem is that my endurance running SUCKS. So this seems like a pretty good way to kill three or four birds with one stone.



The idea is to sign up to run a 5km race by next June, and to raise money for it. Since it's ALSO a fandom thing, there would be a fanwork up for auction as well.

If I offered a 5K fic to go along with the run (I'd be raising money for breast cancer research, which has always been my charity of choice, or failing that for cancer research in general), would anyone be interested? Choice of prompt would go either to the top donor or else drawn at random from the top donors if there's a tie.

Prompt/Summary: This is my long-overdue help_pakistan fic, for the very very patient inyron. She wanted a scenario in which John was forced to choose between his children.

Disclaimer: I tried to negotiate them away from Sera, but she had this death-grip on Sam and she kind of snarled at me, so I backed off.
Warnings: No major warnings, no spoilers. Pre-series, teen!chesters.
Neurotic Author's Note #1: This one was a beast to write. I've never really understood John to my satisfaction, and I'm not sure I did him justice. I think he was a man caught in an impossible situation who was forced to compromise so many of his principles that, in the end, he no longer recognized himself. I may try to write him more, if only to try again to wrap my head around him. inyron, I am so sorry this was late!

Writing is hard!

I am late on my help_pakistan fic, because I decided to write a John POV and it's HARD. Gah. John is a MYSTERY to me and I live in stark, drooling admiration of writers who can wrap their minds around him. Also, wee!chester fic is not my forte. I can do it, but it's not my preferred playground.

Yay, challenges.
