Sam may have been saved from his ultimate destiny, but he wasn't saved from suffering.

Sam's speech at the end of House of the Holy has always been one of my favourites. Looking back it's sad to think just how much he lost and suffered.

So a little while back I tweeted this forlorn little wish on Twitter, which I assumed would never get answered because, well, it was a little ridiculous.

HOWEVER, nwhepcat is made of awesome and she wrote me a story! AND she not only took my wish but she turned it into a lovely episode coda.

If There's a Bustle in Your Hedgerow

rainylemons has done it again, ripping my heart out of my ribcage, tossing it on the floor and stomping on it for a while before picking it up, petting it and making everything better again.

The Way Back: Set post Swan Song. Castiel tries to adjust to being human while Dean adjusts to a life without Sam, and even when they get Sam back everything is still kind of hard.

Seriously, go read it now. Her Castiel voice is awesome, and everyone in that story breaks my damned heart. I'm not just saying this because I beta'd it. In fact, I am a bad, bad beta who was crying so hard by the end that I missed a bunch of things that rainylemons then caught on her own. :P

The lovely and talented maerhys47 remixed my Sam/Lindsay story We Will Not Regret the Past, Nor Wish to Shut the Door Upon It, which may well be the longest title in the universe. ;)

She remixed it here, as Intuition (the what will always materialize hook), and may I highly recommend you check it out? It's a darker, much more layered look at Sam and Lindsay (and Sam/Lindsay, too), at addiction and consequences. It's hard and brittle, yet manages to be compassionate and understanding with the characters. She strikes a beautiful balance there.

Everyone, do you know rainylemons? If you do, then good. If you don't, go read her fic RIGHT THE FUCK NOW.


So she and I were nattering about heart defects (don't ask, it would take too long), and then I nagged her for fic, and then she produced this soul-shattering, horrific little masterpiece.

I saw this vid a while back, and it made me laugh and laugh. So now I repost it for your pleasure.

So the migraine fairy is visiting, and if I'm going to suffer, the boys had damned well better suffer with me. :P

I've read a couple of great stories with migraines/headaches in them (*waves to dante_s_hell, and pixymisa), and there are some others out there that I read and then lost the link to.

I've taken my meds and can now look at my computer screen without dying, so now I'm asking for recs. Anyone got some good migraine/headache recs? I don't care if it's gen, wincest, j2, whatever.

spnstoryfinders is a wash, alas, although I may make a request post there too. :)
